Curriculum
Project Based Learning:
I'm a firm advocate for learning through projects. We're more than our ability to bubble in a scantron.

Literature:
Right now, English teachers have a list of titles to choose from. I'm advocating for a more diverse array of titles, with authentic representations of Indigenous, Asian, African-American, and LGBTQ+ stories and authors!

Health Curriculum:
I'm advocating for expanding early education to openly discuss and remove stigmas surrounding mental health and body positivity.
I'm also a proponent for including LGBTQ+ education in the health curriculum.
Furthermore, I find it's necessary to besides discussing the importance of abstinence, discussing means of safe sex, and how to handle unsafe situations.

LGBTQ+:
I'm a firm advocate for including the LGBTQ+ relevance in Social Studies classes, including trans Women's involvement in US History, and the AIDS Crisis

Post High School:
Your time at school is short, and needs to be thorough in preparing you for the real world. For some of us, that means college, but not everyone! Those of us that don't want to go to college need more options and guidance towards their life to follow.

Student Privacy and Protection
Panic Buttons:
In areas that receive less traffic, and aren't constantly seen, I move towards introducing a Panic Button, that immediately leads to a call of security. This should also be instilled in bathrooms.

Flash Passes:
Many students suffer from anxiety or other mental disorders. It's not by any means easy to explain a situation to a teacher when one needs to leave a situation. I propose the availability of flash passes, and being able to leave a class to go down to the counseling office when necessary.

Bathrooms:
Fixing stalls and locks isn't a luxury, it's an invasion of privacy, and I'm ready to work with each school to instill a system to efficiently fix broken stalls.
I also move to include more gender neutral bathrooms, as some students are uncomfortable going to bathrooms labeled with certain genders.

Dress Code:
I believe that the dress code is inherently gender biased. If not made equal to all, I believe it should be eliminated.

Achievement
Achievement Gap:
In order to bridge the achievement gap, I believe it necessary that besides working closely with amazing programs such as the MSP, we need to work on introducing more extra curricular programs in Elementary and Middle Schools
Sixth Grade Dropout Syndrome:
In our system, we have a syndrome where students mentally 'drop out,' and give up on their education. In order to combat this, I move towards working with elementary schools in increasing more engaging educational programs after-school. Without the pressures of grades, learning becomes much more enjoyable, and has proven to be a more effective way to instill long term wants to learn in students.

Cafeteria, MCPS Accounts, and Policy EEA
School Lunches:
Sodium content in lunches is too high. I believe we can allocate funds to make our school lunches healthier and more affordable. If we appeal to local businesses per school, we can break up the monopoly of the cafeteria. Supporting those businesses also increases the sense of community.
I'm also an advocate for making lunches available year-round for our families in need

MCPS Accounts:
I've heard and understood that MCPS blocking access to other Google Accounts makes it very difficult to share information from home computers to when we use Chromebooks. Thus, I move to unblock using multiple accounts while connected to MCPS Chromebooks.

Policy EEA:
Policy EEA says that high schoolers that are 2 miles away must walk to school. I plan on redrawing bus routes and amending policy EEA to say that 1 mile is the limit for walking. In conditions of cold, ice, sleet, intense heat, or locations near highways, walking 2 miles is too many.
